Why it matters here

What you need, and why to use us.

01

High rateable values sharpen MEES

MEES penalties are calculated on rateable value, and London’s are among the highest in the country, so the cost of letting sub-standard space here is at the top of the scale, up to £150,000.

02

Your rating, not just the paperwork

The rating is what buyers and tenants act on: you cannot let below the MEES minimum, and a weak rating shrinks your pool of takers. We get the rating right and show you the cost-effective ways to lift it.

03

More heritage stock than anywhere

Listed and period commercial buildings are everywhere in London, and the assumption that they are automatically EPC-exempt is both common and wrong. We are specialists in exactly these buildings.

Every commercial building type

Whatever you own, we survey it.

From a single floor to a whole estate, Level 3 through Level 5, including the complex and heritage buildings other assessors turn down.

Offices

From single floors and serviced suites to whole towers in the City, Midtown and Canary Wharf. Level 3 to Level 5.

Retail & high street

Shops, units and parades across central and suburban London, turned around fast to keep lettings moving.

Restaurants & hospitality

A/C, kitchens and extract handled properly on London’s dense food-and-beverage stock.

Industrial & warehouse

Trade counters, light industrial and logistics units across London’s outer boroughs and estates.

Mixed-use

The cost of getting it wrong

Non-compliance is an expensive risk.

MEES penalties are based on rateable value, so in a high-value market the numbers are near the top of the scale. It is a risk that is simple, and cheap, to close.

Common questions

Commercial EPCs in London, in plain English.

Do you cover all of London?

Yes, the whole of Greater London, from the City, West End and Canary Wharf to the outer boroughs and industrial estates inside the M25. Give us the postcode when you request a quote and we will confirm the earliest survey slot.

How quickly can you survey a building in central London?

For most straightforward buildings we can book a survey within days and lodge the certificate shortly after. We factor central-London access, parking and building management into scheduling so the visit is efficient and your transaction is not held up.

Are London’s listed and period buildings exempt from needing an EPC?

Not automatically, which is a common and costly assumption given how much heritage stock London has. Some exemptions exist but they are specific, and claiming one is more involved than simply getting the EPC. We handle complex and heritage buildings as a speciality, so we can tell you straight where you stand.

Which register will my London EPC be on?

London commercial EPCs are lodged on the national register for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which is public and free to search. We lodge the certificate and send you the certificate and recommendation report.

How much does a commercial EPC cost in London?

It is priced against the building type and floor area, not your postcode, so a London building is quoted on the same fixed-price basis as anywhere else. Tell us the building type and size and we will send a clear price up front and the earliest survey slot.
